Student Performances
Performance is an essential component of our students’ training and our principal vehicle for cultivating an appreciation of jazz in the wider community. We stage professionally produced Young Musicians Showcases several times a year, featuring students from our workshops and classes.
Our most experienced students frequently perform at concerts, festivals, and other community events. The Oaktown Jazz Workshops Performance Ensemble is featured at events such as Oakland’s Art & Soul Festival, The Oakland Symphony’s Independence Day Celebration, and The Port of Oakland’s Community Day in Jack London Square.

At our concert hall in Oakland’s historic Jack London Square, Oaktown Jazz Workshops hosts local, regional, and international performers, including alumni who have gone on to develop careers as musicians. Check out our concert calendar!
